SSJ’s EASIEST GOLDEN SYRUP

Hey Happy-Eaters,

Its 3rd day of my HOMEMADE RECIPES FEST and today I will share one more Homemade recipe for my Baking lovers. As I have started my Fest with Corn Syrup, but some people don’t like the flavor of Corn Syrup so they can use another syrup as a substitute of sweetener and that is “GOLDEN SYRUP”. Once again this recipe also have just 2 ingredients to make it and its so simple and easy. You can store it for a long time also.

SSJ’s EASIEST GOLDEN SYRUP

INGREDIENTS

Sugar – 100 gms. And 300 gms.
Lemon – 2 thick slices
Water – 25ml. and 200ml.

METHOD

Pour 100gms. sugar and 25ml. water into a large saucepan. On medium heat, twirl the pot around and caramelise the sugar until a dark golden colour.
Add the boiling water (200ml.), 300gms.sugar and lemon slices.
On low heat boil for 35 minutes until thick (stir it ocassionaly if you must or leave it alone to do its own thing).
Cool and pour into jars or bottles.

TIPS

1. The syrup when hot will always look watery but will thicken when cooled.
2. If you find after cooling the syrup is not thick enough, don't panic - boil it again for a few more minutes.

3. On the other hand if you find after cooling the syrup is way too thick, make up another half recipe, add the 'hard' syrup in as well and boil it all together for less than the required 45 minutes.

Keep watching for more Homemade Recipes daily.
Thank you...
